Hexaglobe Unveils On-Prem and Cloud-Ready RIST-Enabled Live Encoder at IBC 2025

10 September 2025 – Hexaglobe is proud to announce that its flagship Hexaglobe Live Encoder, supporting up to 16 SDI inputs or IPTS/SRT/RIST inputs with H.264/HEVC transcoding and full OTT delivery (HLS, DASH, LL-HLS, WebRTC, DRM), is now enhanced with RIST.

By integrating RIST, Hexaglobe builds on an open, standards-based approach that ensures interoperability and robustness across vendors and workflows. Already supporting RTMP and SRT, the addition of RIST enables low-latency, secure, and reliable contribution over unmanaged networks.

With its multi-source management, encrypted transport, ad insertion, WebRTC previews, quick clipping and concatenation, dynamic overlays, and advanced monitoring tools, the Hexaglobe Live Encoder empowers operators to innovate on top of RIST’s interoperability foundations — both on-premises and in the cloud.

Beyond on-premises deployments, the Hexaglobe Live Encoder is also available in a cloud-native mode, making it easy to scale encoding resources dynamically for large events, pop-up channels, or disaster recovery scenarios. Compression efficiency is another key advantage: when moving video in and out of public clouds, reducing bandwidth not only improves scalability but also directly impacts egress and ingress costs, a critical factor for operators managing high volumes of live video.

“RIST is unique because it combines an open standards-based foundation with the kind of practical features professionals need — ARQ for error recovery, jitter removal, encryption and soon even multipoint distribution. For Hexaglobe, this means our encoder can interoperate seamlessly with other vendors while still letting us innovate with cloud scaling, monitoring and advanced OTT features. That combination of interoperability and freedom is exactly what the industry has been waiting for,” said Pierre-Alexandre Entraygues, CEO of Hexaglobe Group.

This encoder is part of the Hexaglobe Group lineup, which includes:

  • BBright contribution encoders and decoders,

  • SGT broadcast automation systems,

  • Hexaglobe streaming services and platforms.

By embracing RIST, Hexaglobe reinforces its mission of bringing broadcast and OTT together — a standard that perfectly matches the Group’s strategy to unify traditional broadcasting excellence with next-generation streaming innovation.
